When you feel good about the spaces you spend the most time in, you\u2019ll get more done and be motivated to tackle the next project.<\/p>\n<h4>This month, get inspired to organize the bedroom.<\/h4>\n<p>If you\u2019re plagued by restless nights or an inability to relax at the end of the day, it\u2019s time to look at organizing your bedroom. Determine if the items you come across need to be in the bedroom. For example, is the book on the nightstand one that you\u2019re actually reading before bed? If not, moving it to a more suitable room or bookshelf could help cut down on feeling pressure to finish the book when you glance at it before bed. If the things in your room are not needed to help you get ready for your day or relax at the end of it, consider putting them in a new location.<\/p>\n<p>When organizing the dresser, spend time determining the likelihood of wearing or repairing items in the drawers. Sure, a ripped pocket or a tear could be mended, but are you going to take the time to fix it? If you haven\u2019t used an item in years, or forgotten how long it\u2019s been tucked away, there\u2019s a good chance it\u2019s not needed.<\/p>\n<p>As you work your way through the room, make little piles of items that need to be relocated. Leave time to put those items away after you\u2019re done organizing the rest of the space. If you leave the room during the process there are a number of distractions that could take you away from the project.<\/p>\n<p>When you reach the closet, if you\u2019re not ready (or don\u2019t have the energy) to do a full-scale purge try this little trick \u2013 turn your hangers around. It\u2019s something Oprah mentioned several years ago and a suggestion I\u2019ve used with many clients. Many people wear 20% of the items in their closets 80% of the time. Often clothes just hang there because we don\u2019t have the time to sort them. Turn your hangers backward on the racks. When you wear the item, replace the hanger the right way. You\u2019ll get a good idea of which pieces you wear.<\/p>\n<p>If your clothes don\u2019t make you feel great, you\u2019re not going to have a great day. If you feel mediocre when you look at yourself in the mirror, you\u2019ll end up having a mediocre day.<\/p>\n<h4>Inspired Action:<\/h4>\n<p>Spend 20 minutes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redecorateremodelormove.com\/get-organized-and-power-sort-your-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">power-sorting<\/a> the bedrooms in your home.\u00a0 \u00a0 The goal is to clear the clutter you see immediately upon waking up, or right before you go to bed. Clear the surfaces of the nightstands and dressers to help promote a better sense of calm.<\/p>\n<h4>Inspired Thought:<\/h4>\n<p>Accept who you are. When you hold on to clothes you hope to wear again one day, you\u2019re giving yourself permission to discount who you are today.
