Favorite Organizing Things: Clear, Airtight Containers

Organizing is easier when you’ve got the right tools for the job. As a professional organizer with more than two decades of experience, I have a list of tried and true products I’ve recommended and used with clients for years.

Each month I’m sharing one of my favorite things with you to help maximize your organizing efforts.

Clear, Airtight Containers

Reuse and recycle can apply to many items in your home or office, but when it comes to the best storage containers, any ol’ box won’t do.

Swap out old shoe boxes, moving boxes, or cardboard file boxes with clear, airtight containers. These work particularly well in garage or basement spaces that tend to be damp or have issues with mold and dust. The airtight seal on these containers will keep your items protected from the elements. These are ideal for storing keepsakes or memorabilia. Make sure the items are dry and clean before being placed in the boxes. You can also place moisture-absorbing packets inside the container to further protect items from the elements.

Choosing a clear storage box also allows you to see the contents at a quick glance. It saves time and energy when you don’t have to sort through boxes to find the item you need.

If you’re still unsure about the most efficient way to use clear, airtight containers in your home or office, it might be time to schedule a consultation with me. Send me an email linda@unclutterednw.com and let’s chat.
